Darkling
I guess there’s never really a good way to say it’s over. I kind of hoped we’d have gone out in with one final show, but not everything always works out the way you want it to. None the less, I wrote this letter to share my thoughts with everyone. We had a great run and, countless memories. I feel very blessed that I was able to be part of Darkling. Some of the very best times of my life were on stage playing a show with Darkling.
Members:
Chris, Scott, Jim, & Randy; It’s been an honor working with you. Writing music with you guys was very natural, and although we would sometimes put a lot of thought into our music, most of it came directly from the hearts of all 5 us. It seemed as though once we got on stage all arguments, and differences between any of us would simply fade away. There was an undeniable chemistry, and energy that came through in our music when the 5 of us were on stage. I am very proud that I was able to be part of that.
Fans/Friends:
Because of you, we were able to do what we love doing. Writing songs, and sharing the music with you. So many bought our CD’s, T-shirts, came to our shows time and time again supporting us. I poured everything that I am through the years into the music. To see others enjoy it when we’re playing live; well there is no better feeling in the world. I cannot put into words how thankful I am for that. Whether it’s cheering us on, singing our lyrics, head banging, or just a simple nod makes me feel alive. I can’t speak for everyone in Darkling but it is without question, the reason I do this.
Club Owners/Promoters/Sponsors
Thanks to the club owners, promoters, sponsors, and business owners who’ve made it possible for us to play our tunes. A lot of you were very supportive of us through the years even though we were a local, unsigned band who wrote their own music; you still gave us a chance to prove ourselves instead of taking the easy way out and booking a cover band. For those who haven’t, I understand.
I plan on updating suckloud.com with photos/and all the information about the history of Darkling that I have on my computer. This may take me a little time so bare with me.
Thanks again! Jason Russo
